BeerXML Schema / Proposed Schema Change
« on: May 02, 2012, 01:40:50 AM »
In the hops schema there is a "type" of bittering, aroma, or both. There is also a reference to inventory "masstype" of leaf, pellet, or plug. It seems to me that "type" should be the hops packaging of leaf, pellet, or plug. The use case (bittering, aroma, both (or flavoring, dry hop, etc) should be separate, as it's subjective. Thoughts?

BeerXML Schema / BeerXML v2.07 XML files fail validation with XSD
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:40:17 AM »
Several of the included XML files fail validation with XMLReader. For example, the MedievalAle.xml recipe.

Element '{urn:beerxml:yeast:v2}amount', attribute 'volume': [facet 'enumeration'] The value 'mL' is not an element of the set {'ml', 'l', 'tsp', 'tbsp', 'ozfl', 'cup', 'pt', 'qt', 'gal', 'bbl', 'iozfl', 'ipt', 'iqt', 'igal', 'ibbl'}.

These also fail :
grain_ex_01.xml
grain_ex_02.xml
grain_ex_03.xml
hop_record_ex_01.xml
recipe_ex_01.xml

I'm guessing this may be because the XML files are all v2.06 and the schema is v2.07. It was actually kind f fortunate as it was obvious validation was working in my app ;-)

General Discussion / Website background hides content
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:12:59 AM »
Is it possible for someone to change the background or font color on the web site. It's like invisible ink unless you do a CTRL-A, and some content and links are hidden.

General Discussion / BeerXML v2 Status?
« on: March 01, 2012, 01:28:17 PM »
From what I can gather from the forum, the current version of BeerXML v2 is 2.07 (June 2010) and the document is 2.01 (Sep 2007).

Is there a "changelog" on what has changed since 2.01?
How close to "solidified" is the standard?
Is anyone really supporting v2 out there? (BeerSmith2 and BeerToolsPro only support v1)
What will it take to get v2 to a final standard?
